AI at Leverrs
How our AI teacher works.
Plain answers about what the AI does, what it sees and how we keep it safe for children.
What the AI does
- Explains: the AI tutor answers questions with hints and guiding questions rather than handing over answers.
- Teaches: the AI teacher talks a pupil through a topic, pitched to their year group.
- Marks: written answers in practice papers are checked against a mark scheme, with feedback on what earned marks.
- Writes practice: new lessons and practice papers can be drafted with AI for teachers to publish.
What it sees
To answer, the AI is sent the question or what the pupil said, plus their first name, year group and the topic. Our AI provider doesn't use this information to train its AI models. Our privacy notice explains who else handles information and where.
How we keep it safe
- It keeps to schoolwork and is clearly labelled as AI.
- It's instructed never to ask for personal information.
- Teachers and parents can see what a pupil asks the AI tutor.
- There's no chat between children anywhere on Leverrs.
When it gets something wrong
AI can make mistakes. If an answer looks wrong, check it with a teacher or a grown-up, and please tell us at support@leverrs.co.uk so we can fix it. For safeguarding concerns, see our safeguarding page.
